As a middle office professional in the Mumbai Operations team, you will hold a challenging role, providing front to back Operational support to the Mumbai Trading Desk accessing the Indian FICC market. OUR IMPACT
The Mumbai Operations team is part of the larger Global Banking & Markets division of Goldman Sachs and functions within the Indian FICC entities; Goldman Sachs (India) Capital Markets limited (GICL) and Goldman Sachs (India) Finance Private Limited (GIFL). It is a relatively small team located out of the Mumbai office supporting trading desks and external counterparties accessing the dynamic and heavily regulated Indian market through the Indian Primary Dealer and NBFC entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mumbai Operations team provides front to back support for all operational aspects of India FICC & FX trading like Position monitoring, Margin/Collateral management, Documentation handling, Trade settlement, accounting functions and regulatory reporting whilst upholding strict standards of risk management. We are looking for a candidate experienced in the Indian Fixed Income and Currency markets to work closely with Sales & Trading, Compliance, Technology and Project Managers and support the overall business as we expand our footprint in the region.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Support FX and Derivatives - Interbank and OTC traded products for the Mumbai Onshore trading desk.
- Performing essential trader support in timely manner with essential trade and market data
- Performing Position /trade reporting, monitoring, documentation, reconciliations & settlement functions.
- Obtaining an in-depth knowledge of the rules, regulations and various nuances of the Indian FICC/FX market as well as a sound understanding of our internal and external systems of the Clearing Corporation of India (CCIL) & Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
- Responding promptly to Regulator and counterparty inquiries, committing to deliverables as well as undertaking ad-hoc investigation and analysis
- Performing regulatory reporting’s to the Reserve Bank of India, Credit Companies, as mandated by RBI.
- Margin and Collateral Management with the Clearing Corporation of India & the Reserve Bank of India.
- Maintaining a strict control standard on our downstream books of accounts and ensuring breaks are resolved in a timely manner
- Providing funding projections to Corporate Treasury and Mumbai desk for Intra- day line requirements and meeting the funding obligations
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the FICC and FX industry
- Experienced in managing the day-to-day activities of FX Operations including trade reporting, confirmation and regulatory reporting
- Strong understanding and ability to interpret the RBI, FEMA & CCIL regulations impacting our functions
- Strong knowledge on documentation related to FX and derivatives settlement of trades with Corporates/ FPI’s
- Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
- Flexible and able to work well under pressure in a team environment
- Strong communication skill and comfortable interacting with external counterparties
