Band C1 (Manager)

Job Summary - The Manager of Accounting & Tax will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements & tax filings. This role will work closely with senior management, external auditors, to ensure compliance with financial and tax reporting standards. The position requires strong technical accounting and tax knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Assists in the documentation process & preparation of SOPs.

Responsibilities

    • Assist in the preparation of tax forms, i.e 1099, Misc, INT, 5498, quarterly estimated tax payments and other tax-related filings.
    • Collaborate with onshore clients to ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings and other regulatory reports.
    • Should be aware of the Regulatory guidelines of IRS
    • Should be aware of Tax deadlines and have knowledge about Tax liability and payments 
    • Must have knowledge amount insurance products 
    • Work with management for various EXL operational activities
    • Coordinate and oversee the work of the team, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed accurately.
    • Should perform quality audits of the team and identify gaps and resolve them
    • Mentoring & guiding team members, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
    • Identify areas for process improvements and automation & ensure implementation of the process improvement ideas, within the accounting and tax functions to increase efficiency and accuracy.
    • Should be flexible and follow agile approach for getting the work completed on time
    • Should have an ability to prioritize work to meet client expectations
    • Ensure smooth and transparent communication between internal and external stakeholders

     

Qualifications

    • Masters degree in  Finance 
    • 8-10 years of experience in book close activities, tax returns with at least 6-7 years in a managerial or leadership role
    • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, corporate tax laws)
    • Preferred prior experience in (e.g., OneSource, Salesforce, etc). 
    • Strong Accounting knowledge & prior experience in US Tax domain or insurance industry 
    • Strong Communication, demonstrating attention to detail, excellent analytical skills and competent at logical reasoning
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with senior leadership.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
