Senior SAS Administrator – Job Description

  • 8+ years of experience in SAS Administration with strong expertise in SAS Viya and SAS 9.4 platform administration, installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and production support.
  • Hands-on experience in SAS on-premises to cloud migration projects, including migration planning, architecture design, deployment, validation, and post-migration support on cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Extensive experience administering SAS Viya components, including CAS, SAS Environment Manager, Identity Management, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and performance tuning of distributed environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SAS security administration, including LDAP/Active Directory integration, authentication, authorization, role-based access control, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing and supporting high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and platform resiliency solutions for enterprise SAS environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, performance, connectivity, and infrastructure issues across Linux, cloud, database, and SAS application layers.
  • Experience working with Banking and Financial Services domains, supporting regulatory reporting, risk management, data analytics, compliance, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of database integrations with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Teradata, or Snowflake, and experience optimizing SAS-to-database workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and scripting using Shell, Python, or PowerShell to streamline administration, monitoring, deployment, and operational activities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and business teams while mentoring junior administrators.
