Join Cisco Legal’s Regulatory Affairs Trade Legal & Compliance (TLC) team, a global organization of legal, compliance, and regulatory professionals dedicated to enabling Cisco’s business while ensuring compliance with international trade and regulatory requirements.
The Regulatory Affairs team consists of lawyers, program managers, operational specialists, engineers, and subject matter experts focused on key areas including global trade, sanctions, privacy, telecom regulations, ESG, cyber security, and national security compliance. The team serves as a trusted advisor to the business, helping navigate complex regulatory environments while supporting Cisco’s growth and innovation.
Your Impact
As a member of the Screening Operations Team, you will support Cisco’s global transaction screening program and help ensure compliance with international trade and sanctions regulations. You will play a key role in assessing compliance risks, conducting due diligence reviews, and enabling business operations while maintaining regulatory integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct due diligence reviews for:
- Denied party screening
- Location screening
- End-use and end-user screening
- Sales, services, and other business transactions
- Review and validate export license requirements and applicable license exceptions for transactions across regions.
- Manage regional and global compliance caseloads while ensuring timely review and disposition of transactions.
- Monitor internal compliance tools and workflows to support business operations while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Escalate complex compliance issues and regulatory risks to Trade Counsel and senior management as appropriate.
- Explain regulatory requirements and sanctions-related risks to business stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams across Legal, Sales, Operations, and other business functions.
- Conduct risk assessments and periodic reviews of transaction screening procedures.
- Develop compliance reports, dashboards, metrics, and operational insights.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve screening processes and program effectiveness.
- Support implementation and adoption of new screening tools, systems, technologies, and training programs.
- Stay informed on evolving sanctions regulations, export controls, and global trade compliance requirements.

You are a detail-oriented compliance professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You thrive in dynamic environments, can assess risk effectively, and have the ability to balance regulatory requirements with business needs. You are collaborative, curious, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience conducting:
- Sanctions screening
- Due diligence reviews
- Trade compliance investigations
- Regulatory risk assessments
- Strong knowledge of:
- U.S. Sanctions Regulations
- EU Sanctions Regulations
- BIS Entity List
- Denied Party Screening Programs
- Export Control Requirements
- Export Licensing Processes
- Experience documenting investigations, analyses, and alert dispositions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACAMS certification or equivalent sanctions/trade compliance certification.
- Experience with trade compliance and screening platforms such as:
- Oracle Global Trade Management (GTM)
- Global Trade Solutions (GTS)
- Other ERP-based screening tools
- Experience supporting multinational organizations in global compliance environments.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience working with global virtual teams.
