This position is responsible for assisting the Manager-Security Services with day-to-day security operations. The position is also responsible for day-to-day supervision of the physical security infrastructure that protects American Express, its employees, contractors and customers against harm and losses.

Responsibilities

  • Principal Accountabilities:

    • Physical Security 
      • Conduct ongoing security reviews and make recommendations for changes where appropriate.
      • Conduct and support Security Audits, identify security gaps, document findings, recommend corrective actions, and track remediation through closure.
      • Coordinate with security contractors to ensure compliance with service level agreements and consistent application of policies and procedures by contract personnel.
      • Provide assistance to the Manager in the development and implementation of Security-related controls.
      • Interface with business partners in supporting planned/unplanned employee moves, construction projects, and special events.
      • Support internal/external security reviews and audits, maintain required documentation, and ensure identified security gaps are remediated within agreed timelines.
    • Crisis Management
      • Actively support the Crisis Management and Emergency Response program.
    • Executive Protection 
      • Provide executive protection as assigned.
    • Miscellaneous
      • Conduct investigations into Workplace violence incidents.
      • On-call 24/7/365 and provide timely response/escalation for critical security incidents and emergencies outside normal business hours if needed.
      • liaise/coordinate with local administration and law enforcement and support internal investigations.

     

    Breadth of Responsibility:

    • Position will be responsible for supporting the Manager within the specified geographic area.

     

    Autonomy/Problem Solving & Decision Making:

    • The incumbent must possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage emergency situations.

Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3 years of corporate security experience required; degree in Security Management or Criminal Justice preferred.
    • Proven self-starter with excellent time management, problem solving and decision-making skills to effectively direct security activities in a culturally diverse work force and handle emergencies, crises, and stressful situations calmly, quickly, and professionally.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interface effectively with all levels of management and business partners.
    • Awareness of AI integration in Physical Security, including AI-enabled CCTV/video analytics, intelligent access control, alarm monitoring, threat detection, incident management, and emerging security technologies.
    • Executive protection experience.
    • Effective written/verbal communication skills.
