Apprenticeship – Privacy, Global Privacy Office (GPO)
The American Express Global Privacy Office are trusted advisors on the American Express Data Protection & Privacy Principles. We work to raise privacy awareness, drive compliance towards internal privacy policies and regulatory expectations across the organization and establish privacy as a strategic differentiator for the American Express brand. As a second line of defense function, Global Privacy oversee, provide expertise in, and challenge the identification, management, and mitigation of privacy risks across the company in line with the privacy framework and the company’s vision to provide the world’s best customer experience every day.
Position Overview
The candidate must be passionate about privacy, with an ability to learn privacy best practice and regulations. This position, based out of Gurugram Office, India, reports to the Sr Analyst, GPO, APAC.
As the position would involve working with stakeholders across the markets including US/ LACC/ EMEA, candidate should be flexible to work in shift timing matching these time zones.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
The intern will support Monitoring Initiatives and Contact Privacy (CP) requests for all the Business Units. Key activities under monitoring relates to Oversight on Privacy Risk Assessments (PRA) includes:
Timeliness of PRA initiation
- Accuracy/completeness of processing activity as captured in record
- Validation of risk identification
- Adequacy and effectiveness of controls
- Residual risk rating
- Approvals and documentation completeness
- No-impact processing activities
- Preparation of periodic monitoring reports and dashboards for relevant stakeholders
Key activities under privacy related queries (Contact Privacy requests) from multiple Business Units (BU) on Third Party Lifecycle Management (TLM) includes:
Supporting the team in keeping track of open requests and following up with relevant stakeholders on pending requests
Validating capturing accurate documentation under respective requests
Assisting in maintaining tracker for Contact Privacy Privacy requests
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Fair knowledge of Privacy Laws and practices
- Ability to operate multi-nationally with business partners
- High standard of integrity
- Strong computer knowledge; excellent MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills.
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, adaptable and detail oriented with a proven ability to work independently or within a team environment.
- Familiarity with American Express’ products and services.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Strong presentation skills, particularly in the development of professional and thoughtful materials.
- Highly organized and strong written and verbal communication skills.
