Chief Flight Instructor India

Job Description:

  • Manages the local standardization team.
  • Ensures that flight instructors meet the competency requirements as defined in ”Airbus Training” standards.
  • Ensures that flight instructor relevant training and/or standardization forms are completed in accordance with the applicable procedures.
  • Proposes specific training as per A60.4 when applicable.
  • Acts as standardization trainer and evaluator.
  • Provides feedback and support to the continuous improvement of the Airbus Flight Crew Training Operations Manual – Personnel Training – A60.4.
  • Reports to the CFI of the Worldwide ATO in regards to the delegation as local Chief Flight Instructor.
  • Participates to worldwide and regional standardization workshops 
  • Participates to the Worldwide ATO Core Team
  • Disseminates relevant information to the flight instructors.
  • Provides input to the flight instructor technical booklet.
  • Organizes and runs local Notice Observations (NO) and No Notice Observations (NNO) 
  • Participates in the Advanced Flight Instructor Standardization Council on request.
  • Participates in working groups as defined by the CFI of the Worldwide Airbus ATO.
  • Provides support to other training centers on request of the CFI of the Worldwide Airbus ATO.
  • Provides the monthly feedback for the Worldwide ATO List of Instructors.
  • Provides support to the development and execution of the recurrent training & checking program.
  • Promotes Airbus Flight Training Reference.
  • Ensure local standardizer well-being.
  • Keeps proficiency as Type III instructor and examiner and provides at least 10% of her/his working time to perform flying activities.
  • Allocate up to 10% of his/her working time to perform customer simulator sessions as an instructor (production).
  • Continually promoting the safety policy to all personnel and taking part in SMS initiatives.
  • Convening and documenting all interviews and follow-up action required in case of sub-standard performance.
  • Support the local Head of Training for the compliance with Airbus requirements and internal rules.  
  • Controls and validates the competency management plan of the local instructors of the training center in coordination with the local Competence Manager.

Pre-requisites:

  • TRI TRE pre-requisites :
  • Hold a valid EASA licence, with Airbus FBW Type Rating and TRl/r and LIFUS approval on the relevant aircraft type (A320/A330/A350 - FBW)
  • Hold a valid Medical Class 1 without restriction to fly as Captain.
  • Fluent in English
  • Hold or have held a Low Visibility Operations (LVO) qualification
  • Hold or have held an Extended Range Operations for Two-Engine Aeroplane (ETOPS) qualification
  • A minimum of 5 000 hours as Pilot
  • A minimum of 3 000 hours on Jet Large aircraft above 50t MTOW
  • A minimum of 1 000 hours as Captain on Airbus Aircraft
  • A minimum of 500 hours instructor experience in Full Flight Simulator (FFS) on large aircraft,
  • A minimum of 500 hours experience as Captain assigned to conduct Line Flying Under Supervision (LIFUS)/IOE.
  • Minimum of five years commercial aviation experience as pilot on FAR 25 / CS 25 or FAR 23 / CS 23 aircrafts in Multi Pilot Operation (MPO), preferably on Airbus Aircraft.
  • Airbus Standardizer qualification is a plus
  • Airline Management background is a plus
